Our Portfolio: For-Profit Exhibits

Heinz Innovation Center

WARRENDALE, PA

Reinventing an existing space for Heinz Corporation with prominent architectural features, Wiant Design Works designed seven exhibits of museum quality in the Innovation Center’s lobby and hallway, leading into and including an open gallery space.

Aesthetically merging past and present, the goal of this exhibit was to celebrate Heinz Corporation’s long history of innovation and its global presence. Primary themes

included advertising and marketing, company history, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Careful consideration was given to lighting as the opening event would be in the evening, while the permanent exhibit would have to accommodate natural daylight juxtaposed with lit corridors.

Benton Foundry Discovery Center

BENTON, PA

Benton Foundry knew the two-story atrium planned as part of their most recent expansion would be a great place to meet customers and community members. Wiant Design Works created a coherent story told through exhibits that incorporate technical details—how iron and sand become an engine manifold, for example—as well as the foundry’s history. The exhibits show visitors how a foundry works while promoting Benton Foundry’s values, work, and importance.

To appeal to these visitors and achieve our objectives, design solutions included innovative and artistic solutions such as hands-on mechanical interactive elements to provide enjoyable and memorable ways to learn.

Cameron Corporate Showroom

PITTSBURGH, PA

Cameron Instruments manufacture custom devices for the oil, nuclear, and natural gas industries that measure the flow of liquids. The design challenge of this showroom was to present Cameron’s diverse product line in a cohesive yet flexible manner.

The total visitor experience extends from the lobby, with custom designed reception desk, to the corporate briefing center and product showroom. Brand presence is established

with careful selection of appropriate architectural materials, furniture, lighting, state-of-the-art fixturing, and cohesive use of color and graphics. The modular and mobile displays offer a clear organizational system to accommodate devices of varying functions and sizes.

National Energy Technology Lab

MORGANTOWN, WV

The design challenge at this visitor center was to communicate and clarify the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) mission. As a division of the U.S. Department of Energy, NETL is solely responsible for developing clean energy technologies based on fossil fuels.

The client chose to communicate and display all content with a variety of flexible digital displays. The 1600-square-foot exhibit space divides content themes into a series of highly

versatile, interactive electronic presentation centers that include: a multi-display introduction kiosk, interactive touchscreen walls, both a small 3D theater and a larger main video theater, a geophysical interaction center, and satellite images of energy consumption.
